About the Opportunity
The Development and Land Planning Associate opportunity supports the Development team and reports to the Senior Vice President, Development and Land Planning.
Opportunity Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Urban/City Planning, Real Estate Development, Public Administration, Political Science, Marketing, or similar

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to create and make presentations to any size group

Ability to negotiate tactfully and positively

Familiarity with land use policy issues and political environment in California (specifically Bay Area)

Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Summary of Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Support team throughout the entitlement process and throughout all phases of the project as required

Learn and stay up to date on all aspects of Kilroy’s Bay Area development projects (project history, intention, acquisition, design development, environmental/CEQA analyses, etc.)

Research General and Specific Plans in Bay Area cities, and create and maintain database for use by the internal team to assist with investment and development decisions

Build and maintain relationships and continually interface with local officials, community leaders, neighbors, tenants, and other project stakeholders in order to maximize community support and optimize approval durations

Create and maintain stakeholder database for all Bay Area development projects

Build community support and organize supporters to attend City hearings by walking neighborhoods and reaching out via phone, email, and/or post

Attend and present at community meetings, City hearings, etc. as needed, and be prepared to answer questions in a thoughtful way that is tailored to each particular audience

Plan, facilitate, and staff creative ways to engage community stakeholders, including informational series’ and events

Work with internal Marketing Team to develop project collateral (brochures, boards, comment cards, etc.) and create frequent project update emails to community stakeholders

Manage comment cards/website comments and respond as needed

Develop, monitor, and update website content for Bay Area development projects

Commission community/economic benefits analyses and develop creative ways to disseminate information to project stakeholders

Facilitate and manage existing and new sponsorships and volunteer events related to Bay Area development projects
