The Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to join us for the 7th Annual BREAA Gala on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Four Seasons San Francisco.
Each year, the BREAA Gala brings together alumni, faculty, students, and industry leaders for an evening celebrating the relationships, leadership, and shared experiences that unite generations of Berkeley real estate professionals. As our network continues to grow, the Gala remains our signature opportunity to reconnect with fellow Golden Bears, strengthen lasting relationships, and celebrate the people shaping the future of our industry.
A visionary executive. A respected board leader. A lifelong champion of the Berkeley real estate community.
For more than four decades, Connie Moore has shaped the commercial real estate industry through visionary leadership, unwavering integrity, and an enduring commitment to mentorship. As President and Chief Executive Officer of BRE Properties, she led one of the nation’s premier public real estate companies, while her board leadership with organizations including Healthcare Realty Trust, Columbia Property Trust, Tri Pointe Homes, and the Urban Land Institute has influenced the industry across California, Texas, and markets throughout the United States.
A proud alumna of the Haas School of Business, Connie has remained deeply committed to Berkeley. She chaired the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics Policy Advisory Board for more than twenty years and continues to serve on its Executive Committee, strengthening the connection between academia and industry while inspiring generations of future leaders.
Her extraordinary career has been recognized with the NAREIT Industry Leadership Award, the Haas School of Business Lifetime Achievement Award, designation as a Lifetime Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, and an Honorary Doctorate from San José State University.
Yet those who know Connie best speak first of her generosity as a mentor, her humility as a leader, and the lasting impact she has had on countless careers. Her legacy is measured not only by the organizations she has led, but by the people she has inspired.
Join us as we celebrate Connie's extraordinary career and hear from the colleagues, friends, and industry leaders who know her best as they share the stories, relationships, and defining moments that shaped her remarkable career and enduring impact.
We look forward to welcoming you on October 1st, 2026 for another unforgettable evening celebrating the Berkeley Real Estate community.

Join us in Costa Mesa for an exclusive tour with Nikolai & Sebastian Sadeghi, both Berkeley alumni, to explore the LAB Anti-Mall and the CAMP. Hear about the founding story of LAB Holding (owners of The Anaheim Packing District) and get an exclusive sneak-peek at an upcoming new development of theirs in the area / in the SoBeCa District!
Afterwards, stick around for drinks and bites (included in your ticket price) from one of the unique dining operators on site. Parking information will be released the day before the event to all registrants. Many thanks to LAB Holding for generously subsidizing food, drinks, and parking for our group! We're grateful for their support in making this event possible.
Company Description:
LAB Holding weaves community, culture, commerce, and consciousness into real estate innovation and placemaking. Specializing in supporting up-and-coming retail entrepreneurs and independent creators, LAB, an acronym for "Little American Business", creates nurturing environments where small businesses can thrive.
As a pioneer in neighborhood revitalization and experiential commercial real estate, LAB Holding is the creative force behind iconic destinations including Costa Mesa’s SoBeCa District (South on Bristol Entertainment, Culture, Arts), The LAB Anti-Mall, The CAMP, The Anaheim Packing District, and numerous other creative commercial properties across Orange County. Through long-term community investment, LAB Holding transforms adaptive-reuse properties into vibrant, culture-driven gathering places.
Project Description: The LAB "Anti-Mall" is an eclectic indoor-outdoor retail community designed to combat traditional retail monotony. An acronym for "Little American Business," the destination was initially redeveloped in 1993 from a former night vision goggle factory by former fashion industry executives Shaheen and Linda Sadeghi.
Today, the family legacy continues as the space is stewarded by their sons: Dominic, Nikolai (UC Berkeley Class of 2019), and Sebastian Sadeghi (UC Berkeley Class of 2017). Marking a dynamic new chapter, The LAB has recently undergone the most substantial redevelopment in the property's history - replacing what was once one of the nation's original Urban Outfitters locations with seven brand-new, independent small businesses tailored to serve the local community.
Join the BREAA community for an exclusive morning discussion with Breakthrough Properties, a global life science real estate developer, owner and operator of research and development facilities for mission-driven companies.
Hosted at Breakthrough Properties' Torrey Heights Campus in San Diego, this event will provide attendees with a firsthand look at one of the region's most successful life science developments. The conversation will be led by Dan D’Orazi (Haas MBA), Chief Investment Officer at Breakthrough Properties, who will share insights into the vision, development strategy, leasing execution, and investment approach behind the project.
Over coffee at The Clubhouse overlooking Torrey Pines, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the evolving life science real estate market, explore the unique dynamics of developing specialized research facilities, and engage directly with an industry leader shaping the future of innovation-focused real estate.
Come ring in the holiday season and celebrate the close of another successful year with the BREAA LA Chapter!
This year we’re celebrating once again with a private, reserved space at Father’s Office in the Helms Design District, a unique Los Angeles destination shaped and developed by a UC Berkeley alum!
Bring a fellow Berkeley alum or a friend and join us for hors d'oeuvres as well as beer, wine, and cocktails. Don’t miss this great chance to connect with others in the So-Cal real estate community!
