Larry Baer Presents Mission Rock

On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, fifty lucky Giants fans joined BREAA for a members-only sold-out event: a presentation by Larry Baer on the Mission Rock development, followed by Giants vs. Rockies.

We entered the stadium through the same tunnel that the players walk through to get to the field. The San Francisco Giants provided us with media passes for exclusive access to the press room, which is where Giants players give their post-game interviews.

Once in the room we were joined by our gracious hosts, San Francisco Giants President and CEO Larry Baer, and the Senior Managing Director of Development Services Jon Knorpp, for a wide ranging discussion followed by a candid Q&A session. We touched on topics such as Mr. Baer's integral role in saving the Giants from moving to Tampa Bay in 1992, the development of AT&T Park, the business of baseball, the pennant race, and of course the exciting plans that the Giants have for their Mission Rock development. Mr. Knorpp shared his inside perspective on the entitlement process, working with the City and the Port, and the complexities of financing.

Then it was game-time! We made our way to a reserved lower-level block of seats in the crisp "summer" air to enjoy a pitcher's duel between the Giants' Madison Bumgarner and the Rockies' Kyle Freeland. With the game tied at 0-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning Brandon Crawford hit a game-winning walk-off home run. Go Giants!

Special thanks to Larry Baer, Jon Knorpp, Craig Solomon, and
