About the Opportunity


Sares Regis Group of Northern California is seeking an individual interested in pursuing a career in real estate development with a focus on acquisitions and finance. The Acquisitions Analyst/Associate will work directly with senior management on all aspects of the acquisition and financing process including the sourcing of new deal leads and capital relationships in Silicon Valley. The opportunity will provide significant experience and exposure to real estate development; including acquisitions, underwriting, due diligence, joint venture financing, and disposition of projects. The position will report to the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions.


Summary of Responsibilities


The core responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Identify, source, and underwrite development deal opportunities for residential and mixed‐use projects

  • Execute a self‐starter approach to deal sourcing including cold‐calling, property tours, and market surveys

  • Build an extensive network of industry relationships with brokers, land owners, and other deal contacts

  • Review, analyze, and summarize acquisition due diligence materials

  • Assist in the negotiation and documentation of joint venture equity and debt financing

  • Prepare financial analysis and proforma modeling of large mixed‐use development projects

  • Track and monitor city general plan updates and specific plan processes

  • Develop deep understanding of Bay Area development pipeline and real estate market in general



  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or economics

  • 3‐8 years of real estate experience in a development, brokerage, or investment banking role

  • Dedication to building a career in the Bay Area real estate development industry

  • Trustworthy and positive attitude

  • Self‐motivator mentality with ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with minimal direction

  • Strong attention to detail with the patience to solve complex and lengthy problems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong quantitative skills and experience with financial modeling

  • Very high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • As part of the final interview process, a case study and financial modeling test will be administered
